5 Experiments to try on Stroke Watercolour/ gouache sketchbook

    1. Wet-on-Wet Technique: Wet the watercolor paper thoroughly with clean water, and then apply watercolor paint while the paper is still wet. This technique allows colors to blend and flow in unpredictable and beautiful ways. Experiment with different color combinations and the amount of water you apply to the paper.
    2. Salt Texture: Apply wet watercolor paint to the paper, and while it's still damp, sprinkle table salt or kosher salt onto the paint. As the paint dries, the salt absorbs pigment and creates interesting, crystalline textures. Try different types of salt for varying effects.
    3. Masking Fluid Effects: Use masking fluid to protect areas of your paper before painting. Once the paint is dry, rub off the masking fluid to reveal untouched white areas. Experiment with masking fluid to create highlights, textures, and intricate details in your watercolor paintings.
    4. Lifting and Blotting: After applying watercolor paint, use a damp brush or paper towel to lift or blot the paint from the paper. This technique can create soft edges, highlights, and interesting textures in your artwork. It's a way to correct mistakes or add subtlety to your work.
    5. Alcohol and Watercolor: Apply watercolor to your paper, and while it's still wet, drop or splatter rubbing alcohol onto the paint. The alcohol will react with the watercolor, creating unique textures and patterns. Experiment with different concentrations of alcohol and colors to achieve various results.
